History of Donlyn Shelties

The ongoing quest of Donlyn Shelties began in 1966 through our love and dedication to the wonderful breed- Shetland Sheepdog. Our first pet, Shawn, went as far as a Utility in obedience with several High in Trials.

As time went by, we became more and more interested in all forms of competition and breeding and soon were showing every weekend.  We were quick to realize that all-breed professional handling was the way to go and have been doing it ever since, having finished many conformation Champions for others.  Several of our dogs have gone on to become obedience champions as well.

Bill is retired from the Professional Handlers Association (PHA) and regularly handled all-breeds for select clients as well as handling our own dogs in the ring.  We both have been members of the ASSA since 1970.  Tuson & Smudge

We were founding and Life Members of the Tampa Bay Area Shetland Sheepdog Club.  We both have been President and have held various other offices in the Club.

We are founding members of the Mid-Florida Shetland Sheepdog Club and life Members of the Shetland Sheepdog Club of Southeast Florida.  We are also members of the Tampa Bay Kennel Club, Brandon Florida Kennel Club and the Dog Training Club of Tampa.
